Clean Up Day #2 will be this Saturday, 4/23, from 8 AM to 3 PM

Clean Up Day #2, today, Saturday, 4/23, from 8 AM to 3 PM is ON, rain or shine!

There’s plenty to do inside if the weather is bad enough.

We’ll be joined by alumni volunteers from St. Joseph’s University as part of their Global Community Day.

Just 5 weeks until Opening Day, so we have plenty of work to do fairly quickly. The good news this year is that we will not need to patch cement or replace tiles, as we have completely repaired pool walls and all new coping and tile. We are even replacing much of the concrete deck.

So, come out for an hour or the whole day and let’s get the summer swim season off to a great start!

strength needed 8-9 AM Saturday (tomorrow)…

We have several (4) BFSC winterization tasks that need 4-8 (or more) strong guys and gals:
1) moving two sets of bleachers,
2) moving lane lines,
3) taking down and storing diving boards and
4) taking down and storing the big tent.
If you are feeling strong, please join me Saturday 8-9 AM or 3-4 PM to take care of these items. I have 4 people committed so far, but if we get 10+ people we’ll be done faster.
I’m bringing coffee, so all I need is your strong backs.
Chris Shull

Adult Social this Saturday…

Barclay’s Annual Adult Social will be this Saturday, June 20, 7:00-Midnight.

Final Fix-up / Clean-up Days will be…

Saturday, 7 AM – 3 PM  and  Sunday, 7 AM – 3 PM.

We will provide refreshments and nourishment.

Activities available for skilled and unskilled labor, from carpentry, tile masonry and painting, to gardening, cleaning and moving things around.

You don’t have to come and work for 8 hours. We know that’s impossible for most people. Come and give us an hour or two, bring your kids, send your teenagers, that’s all we need.

Work will continue during the week Monday-Friday, May 18th-22nd, from about 5 to 8 PM. Please drop us a note if you are coming so we can coordinate schedules.

6 important dates coming up:

Saturday, April 25, 9 AM – 3 PM: Clean up continues — last Sunday was fantastic! Over 35 people showed up and helped us get ready for Summer. Please join us for a while this Saturday to move things along even more. The progress made was impressive, but much remains to be done. This Saturday we expect help from Saint Joseph’s University alumni as part of their Global Community Day program. Please bring leaf rakes, gloves, leave blowers, and garden tools.

Sunday, April 26, any time, but with a private room for BFSC from 6-9 PM: family FUNdraiser at Pizzeria Uno Maple Shade on Rt 73. You must show the voucher (click here) the day of the event. This a great time to invite potential members too!

Saturday, May 2, 2:30-4:00 PM, Camp Barclay Open House — If you or someone you know is interested in our Summer Day Camp, please come meet our Camp Directors and learn about our program for 6-12 year olds.

Saturday, May 2, 9 AM – 3 PM: Fix up mode goes into overdrive — by this point we should be patching the concrete and repairing the tile in the pool, maybe even start painting. And planting flowers. Etc.

Saturday, May 23, 12 noon: Pool opens for the season! Yay!

Tuesday, June 23: First day of Camp Barclay. Please note that this is a 1-day delay due to snow-day-delayed mandatory in-service days for our Camp Directors. If you’ve already paid for the first week, a credit will be issued for a later week.

Hope to see you and your family at the Club soon!

Bonus opportunity Saturday, 4/18…

In addition to previously announced clean up opportunities, President Steve Krafcik will be working at the pool 9AM-3PM Saturday, 4/18.

“What?” you say, “another BONUS opportunity to work at the pool and help get things ready for summer!?!?”

Yes, it’s true. Please get out of the house, come by the club and help for a while. Steve would really like some company.

Thanks in advance for your help!
